Enkay Telecommunications Pvt. Ltd.

Enkay Telecommunications was a prominent company in the telecommunications industry dealing with hardware services and the marketing of products, serviced by Neutron. Its comprehensive communication solutions significantly enhanced connectivity and operational efficiency for businesses.

The company's focus on delivering high-quality and innovative systems and software earned it a strong reputation in the sector. Along with its services, it had a strong after-sales service that was responsible for the servicing and maintenance of all offerings of the company. Due to its efficiency and swiftness, the company was offered several contracts and saw great successes over its lifespan. Enkay was able to bag orders from the Prime Minister’s Office, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, several Chief Ministers and Raj Bhavans from different states and also had a large dealership network all over the country.



Neutron Electronic Systems Pvt. Ltd.

Neutron Electronics, founded in 1971, was a pioneering company in the electronics industry. Neutron was the first company in India to market Video Conferencing equipment in India and it also gave a presentation to the Indian Parliament as it was totally a new technology to the country. Special presentation was given to Shri L. K. Advani at Enkay’s office in Delhi.

Neutron Electronics was also known for its after-sales services, which set it apart from the competition. Responding to problems faster than any other company in the public or private sector, Neutron garnered a reputation of swiftness and reliability.



Adino Telecom Pvt. Ltd.

Adino Telecom, founded by Mr. Nanik Rupani along with Mr. Gulu Mirchandani, Mr. Vijay Mansukhani of ONIDA and also Mr. Dayal Hemrajani, became a leading telecommunications company renowned for its innovative and reliable solutions for wireless communication in India. During its inception, Adino Telecom’s dealing with Meltron, which was a Maharashtra Government undertaking, facilitated it in receiving a licence to give communication services to government undertaking and departments including defence and police forces, and played a pivotal role in advancing the telecommunications industry of India, providing state-of-the-art products and services that enhanced connectivity and operational efficiency for businesses.

Under Adino’s Management team’s strategic leadership, the company partnered with Motorola, doing business in radio-trunking equipment and setting new standards for wireless communication in India.



Contact Point (A division of Roopmeck Electricals Pvt. Ltd.)

Established by Nanik Rupani in collaboration with MTNL and inaugurated by M.C. Venkataraman, General Manager of MTNL, Contact Point was a groundbreaking service created during a time when telephones were not nationally available. Recognizing the need for effective and reliable communication, Contact Point, the first private communication center in the country, emerged as a vital solution, and lakhs of similar private communication centres mushroomed in every nook and corner of the country, providing the public with access to telephones and enhancing national and international connectivity at a time when post offices could not keep up with the demand of the people.

Contact Point was a Trendsetter followed by various centers, in collaboration by MTNL, in Bombay and Delhi, and BSNL in the rest of the country, providing communication service all over India, which led to increase in revenues of both of them by leaps and bounds. This also led to creation of job opportunities for lakhs of people in the country. Making a private telecommunication centre was only possible for Contact Point and other communication centers in the rest of the country because of the blessings of Mr. Sam Pitroda.



Hind Decor

Hind Decor, founded by Nanik Rupani and Mr. Shantilal Meckoni, was an interior decor company. They designed several notable spaces and flats in areas including Worli and Peddar Road. They also bagged the most prestigious Maharaja VIP Lounge in the Mumbai Santacruz Airport, with Mr. Romesh Pathare, leading architect of Air India at that time. They were immensely appreciated for their work by the officials of Air India. Even JRD Tata, the then Chairman of Air India, came to visit the Maharaja Lounge and appreciated the work. The firm was offered contracts for specially designed chairs in the Air India building. It was also offered a contract to redesign Air India's office in New York City, although this offer was regretted due to lack of resources with Hind Decor.

Hind Decor's innovative designs and commitment to quality set it apart in the market, contributing significantly to its success and reputation.



Hind Industries

Hind Industries, a partnership between the Rupanis and the Meckonis, was a company supplying hardware equipment to large industries and conglomerates. Its most notable customers included the National Machinery Manufacturers Ltd. from Mafatlal Group, the leading textile machinery manufacturer and exporters of that time.

Hind Industries soon merged with and turned into Hind Decor, then transitioned into interior design and decor.



Eastmen Art Emporium

Nanik founded Eastmen Art Emporium with Jawhar Muchalla and Kant Pandit due to his love for handicrafts. Seeing the craftsmen being paid poorly for their art, Nanik wished to buy local handicrafts directly from the craftsmen without the need for a middleman. Curating a selection of indigenous crafts and artifacts himself, Nanik brought in articles from each state of India. Based out of the famous Air India Building in Nariman Point, Mumbai, Eastmen Art Emporium gained the recognition of many for its exceptional craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal, including JRD Tata himself, who was seen admiring the exquisite wares present on display.

Eastmen Art Emporium marked a turning point in Nanik’s life, with him shifting his focus out of the textile industry and towards a completely different industry previously unknown to him. Despite the hardships faced in the start, Eastmen Art Emporium saw massive success in the long run.



Nanik Silk Industries

Nanik Silk Industries started off with supplying to leading exporters silk scarfs, pure silk sarees, and ShantiNiketan leather bags bought from Kolkata. This being the first company started by Nanik independently, it helped him in cementing his position in the textile industry of Mumbai, while also helping him during his transition out of the family business. Turning into a prominent company known for its trading of high-quality silk fabrics, Nanik Silk Industries gained widespread recognition from leading exporters.



Radha Silk Industries

Radha Silk industries had a similar manufacturing product as Roop Textiles. It manufactured nylon and silk material for sarees.



Roop Textiles

Roop Textiles, started by the Rupani family, was Nanik Rupani's fresh start in the textile industry. The company owned power looms in Bhiwandi that manufactured Nylon-based textiles which were managed by Nanik himself. These textiles helped Roop Textiles in gaining recognition for its innovative production process and its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Nanik was responsible for the co-ordination between workers and management within the company and would be seen making his way from Wadala to Thane every day, travelling by 3 different modes of public transport in the process. Roop Textiles was the first textile company managed by Nanik but the experience he gained helped him in growing exponentially within the textile sector in his future endeavours.
